Came upon this today and thought it pretty cool: flickr slideshows.
I am trying it here, just because it looks so easy, that I could get some our clients to set it up.
But on a side note, every time I try to embed something in a post using this editor, it wipes out parts of the embed/object statement, and doesn’t accept the code. I can’t figure out how to get an this into a Word Press post for the life of me! Anyway…

I get quite a few requests along the lines of, “I’d like to have rotating images on my homepage, how can we do this?”
Well, if you’re not too picky about the image’s size, you may be able to use Flickr’s Make a Badge feature for your site which will load a different photo based on the parameters you set (tags, a specific set, etc.) A free flickr account is all you need, unless you’re planning to upload more than the free account allows per month.
I set up an example here and though rudimentary, modifying some of the code gets you a nicely framed medium-sized image.
Flickr has quite a few free tools available from mapping images to flickr color selector.
