Portland visit, again
Ray and I took a weekend getaway to Portland. Just an overnight visit where we caught up with friends and checked out some old haunts.
Saturday morning we headed out from home, ate out at Young’s in Durham (mediocre at best), and took a drive down to Newmarket to check it out.
We stayed at the West End Inn which was quite fine and enjoyed free wireless internet access and yummy French toast Sunday morning.
Saturday night we caught up with Sandie and Carey at Norm’s. Sunday Ray met Lily for a very special haircut. We also were able to check out Mackworth Island, catch the Edune Parade from MECA, grabbed some fab bakery items from my favorite bakery, Standard Baking , dine (as opposed to the “ate” above) at the Blue Spoon and stopped in to Freeport for LLBean and the Clarks outlet, among others. Checked out some kayaks for Sandie. Can’t wait for “kayaking season”.
After this it was on the road toward home with a quick stop at my sister Nancy’s to free a perennial sweet pea from her garden for our yard. Thanks, Nance!
