Anza-Borrego Desert Abloom

The Anza-Borrego Desert Abloom, April 2001
I had done what’s called the “Southwest Circle”(Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Moab, UT, etc.) years before with a friend in my uncle’s RV (1997?), but had never seen anything as beautiful as the flowers I saw in this oh-so-barren-looking land. When you live this close to the desert and you’ve grown up in the green northeast, this is a fascinating place. Watch out for the snake

From the Yunnan Province of China…

I took photos for The Hopkins Center’s Outreach and Education division of performers from the Yunnan Province of China. A great opportunity to both mingle with this amazing group of people and capture their light and energy in photographs. Thanks to Joe (whom I know thru UVAA) for the opportunity!
